Tinubu approved the appointment of Olatunji Bello as the new CEO of FCCPC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Olatunji as the new Chief Executive Officer and the Vice chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission FCCPC.

In a statement by Anjuri Ngelale the special adviser to the president,

“he said, Bello is the former secretary to the Lagos state government, a lawyer, administrator and renowned journalist, he also served as the Commissioner for Environment with different administration in Lagos state.”

His appointment to the CEO and vice chairman for FCCPC came six months after Irukera was sacked by Tinubu from the position. Irukera was sacked alongside with Alex Okoh, the director general of the Bureau of Public Enterprise in their motive to restructure and reposition critical agencies towards the protection of the Nigerian Consumer right.

The special adviser to the president says Tinubu expects the newly appointed chief executive officer Olatunji Bello to ensure the holistic realization of the commission’s mandate of protecting and promoting the interest of Nigerian consumers and to ensure the measure that guarantees the safety and quality of goods and services .
