The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Asue Ighodalo on Friday night continued with his discussion with the indigenes of Edo in Hamburg, Germany ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

At the meeting, Ighodalo reaffirmed his decision, along side his running mate, Barr Osarodion Ogie and his committed team, to make and run Edo State as a first world sub-national in Nigeria.

The discussion with Edo Diaspora Community in Europe ahead of the September election had taken him to other parts of Europe such as Reggio Emilia, Italy, Manchester, and also London in the UK and will end on Saturday night with a similar engagement in Nuremberg.

Ighodalo in his discussion in a well packed hall on Friday night in Hamburg, assured the indigenes that his vision was on build on and continue from where the previous administrations had done and take the state to where it ought to be by carefully and strategically executing the “Pathway to Prosperity for All” manifesto which was earlier unveiled in the week.

In his words, “we must know who we are in Edo State. Our state has produced some very famous individuals in the past who etched their names in national history. The last eight years have witnessed some good developments. We must build on them.

We can’t go back to the past. If it happens it will be a shame to each and everyone of us in this hall. I am not a spokesperson for the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, but I can tell you that the administration has moved Edo State from where it used to be.

We can only move forward and not seek to go back. Edo State has changed. It is time to solidify the reforms that the Obaseki administration has achieved”.
