Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, laments PDP’s betrayal of public trust, says the party’s failure to address the political crisis has let the people down.

Fubara said the state is currently relying on what it can do based on truth instead of party politics. During a meeting with the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialization at Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Siminialayi Fubara emphasized that Rivers State will prioritize its interests and defend democracy, rather than being held back by party affiliations.

He stated, ‘We’re no longer focused on party politics, but a movement to stand firm on our soil and protect democracy. The party has failed us, and we must take a stand.’

Governor Fubara urged the committee to consider Rivers State’s interests when recommending privatization and commercialization of public companies. He expressed the state’s willingness to acquire stakes in these companies to ensure their viability and protection.

He added, ‘We have the resources to invest and supervise these assets, making them beneficial to both the state and the federal government. We seek your support in this endeavor and request that you inform us of any available opportunities for Rivers State to acquire shares or ownership.'”
