Lucky Aiyedatiwa hails Dapo Abiodun’s emergency as SGF Chairman

On Monday 24th of June 2024, a meeting was held in Abeokuta, Ogun state, where SGF unanimously elected Dapo Abiodun as chairman while Anambra state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, emerged as Vice-chairman.

The decision by governors from the southern region of Nigeria to elect Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun as chairman of their forum has been praised by his Ondo State counterpart, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, through his spokesman John Paul Akinduro, released a statement applauding his colleagues for selecting Dapo Abiodun to serve as the new chairman of the governors’ forum.

Chairman Dapo Abiodun, in his inaugural remarks, recognized the formidable tasks facing the forum and thanked the members for the distinction of electing him as their leader, which he humbly acknowledged as a great privilege. Governor Aiyedatiwa further emphasized that the decisions reached at the meeting were designed to promote the region’s collective progress and enhance economic collaboration and unity among the constituent states.

Governor Dapo Abiodun revealed that the meeting marked a significant milestone, being the first gathering in nearly three years, and demonstrated the collective resolve and dedication of the southern states to reclaim their rightful status and leadership in the region.
