The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has reaffirmed the suspension of Kano State Governor, Abbah Yusuf, until December. This decision was announced in a statement by the Party’s National Secretary, Mr. Oginni Olaposi, in Abuja,on 7th of July 2024.

The party is set to hold a strategic stakeholders meeting in Abuja later this month to address pressing internal matters and reinforce the expulsion of its former Presidential Candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Elder Buba Galadima, and the entire national working committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji.

The meeting aims to discuss critical issues affecting the party and ensure the advancement of democracy and development ahead of the 2027 general elections. All party leaders, elders, and elected members are mandatorily required to attend, with consequences for anti-party activities.

The NNPP National Secretary emphasized that the party’s constitution is supreme and shall be respected without prejudice to the federal republic’s grand norm. The party hopes that INEC will respect internal democracy and support the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
