Former Senator from Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has declared that divine intervention may be the only way to put an end to the simmering political conflict between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, which has been casting a shadow over Rivers State.

Expanding on his viewpoint, Sani stressed that “Rivers State has been entrusted to God to resolve the issues at hand.”
This statement comes in the wake of the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, which has been simmering ever since Governor Sim Fubara took office.

At the root of the turmoil in Rivers State is the power struggle between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, as they vie for control over the state’s political landscape. The growing strife has resulted in the emergence of a duality of political leadership, with two individuals, Martin Amaewhule and Victor Oko-Jumbo, each claiming to be the legitimate Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Even President Bola Tinubu’s attempts to mediate in the political imbroglio have so far proven fruitless, as the acolytes of both parties persist in their heated verbal sparring, seemingly impervious to any solution or reconciliation.
