Kano State NNPP Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, has denounced the purported expulsion of Rabiu Kwankwaso and suspension of Governor Abba Yusuf, attributing the move to individuals previously expelled from the party for anti-party activities and collusion with opposition forces.
Dungurawa questioned the logic of suspending the party’s sole Governor and Presidential Candidate, who has been instrumental in the party’s growth.
He alleged that opposition forces, sponsored by the ruling government and APC, are behind the crisis, fearing Kwankwaso’s potential presidency in 2027.Dungurawa expressed concern over the continued security provision to the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, emphasizing that the Governor has the sole mandate to appoint an Emir.
He urged the authorities to prioritize the security needs of the larger Kano population, who are facing insecurity. This statement comes in response to a communique issued by a factional NNPP group, affirming the suspension and expulsion of Kwankwaso and Yusuf. Dungurawa reassured that the party remains united and committed to presenting the next President of Nigeria.
