Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the upcoming Edo State governorship election, has extended his condolences and pledged support to the families of the four individuals who lost their lives in the tragic incident at Jattu Market in Etsako West Local Government Area.
The victims succumbed to their injuries after trees fell on them during a sudden rainstorm on Monday. The Chairman of the council, Marvellous Zibiri, confirmed the incident and reported that four bodies have been recovered and taken to the mortuary, while the injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Okpebholo, in a statement, expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased and the injured, and urged the state government to provide immediate assistance to those affected. He also promised to provide support to the victims and their families, stating that “this painful loss of lives, homes, and livelihoods remains a shared grief that further unites us together.
“The senator’s gesture is a demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of the people of Edo State, particularly those in Edo North Senatorial District, and his solidarity with them in times of tragedy.
