“The 2023 National Division 1 Volleyball League has concluded with the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers and Olalomi Royal Spikers emerging as champions in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. In the women’s final, Olalomi Royal Spikers secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Nigeria Air Force, winning 19-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-21, and 15-13. Meanwhile, the CNS Spikers dominated the men’s final, defeating Nigeria Correctional Service 3-0 with a flawless performance, winning 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17 to maintain a perfect winning record throughout the tournament.
“The final standings for the men’s National Division 1 League have been confirmed, with CNS Spikers emerging as champions with a total of 24 points. Nigeria Correctional Service secured second place with 18 points, while Kwara United surprised many by claiming third place with 7 points. UCEM of Enugu and G-Ranks Spikers rounded out the top five with 4 points each. In the women’s Division 1 League, Olalomi Royal Spikers dominated with 8 points to take first place, followed by Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Rocket in second with 3 points. As a result, the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League has announced the promotion of CNS Spikers and Nigeria Correctional Service from the men’s division, and Olalomi Royal Spikers and Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Rocket from the women’s division, to compete in the upcoming season.”
