The Chairman of Club Owners in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Okey Kpalukwu has announced that the 2024/25 league season will feature a full schedule.
This decision was made at the Annual General Meeting of the NPFL held on Tuesday,July 26th,2024,in Lagos.
There were initial reports that the club owners might adopt an abridged format for the new season due to financial challenges faced by some of the clubs last season, however, it was agreed to retain the full schedule format after much deliberation.
Also speaking at the event, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alh Ibrahim Gasau admonished the NPFL to make sure strict deferences with the league fixtures“Last season we had confrontation with fixtures.
We have to keep the fixtures.
You shouldn’t make the fixtures public until everything is in order. We must keep to it. There should not be assembled strong matches again. No postponement of matches.” he mentioned
