The Russian Wrestling Federation announced that Russian wrestlers approved for the Olympics have declined the offer.
Despite the IOC permitting Russian athletes to compete neutrally, 10 wrestlers will not attend in protest. The federation, coaches, and athletes unanimously opted out due to the unfair selection criteria.
Athletes in Paris must denounce Russia’s actions in Ukraine and have no military affiliations. Russian officials criticized the IOC, stating that those competing under a neutral flag won’t participate in team events or the opening ceremony.
