EU Ask Amazon for More Information on Digital Service Compliance

European Commission want Amazon to prove it compliance with Digital Services Act (DSA) obligations.

And also to provide more information on the measures the U.S. e-commerce giant has taken. Amazon are obligated to provide the requested information by July 26.

Amazon European market places consist of 8 countries located across the Europe servicing more than 500 people.

The EU commission said in a statement that Amazon is asked to provide detailed information on its compliance with the provisions concerning transparency of the recommender systems.

The Digital Services Act requested for large online platform like Amazon to do more and tackle illegal and harmful content on their platforms.

Amazon spokesman said, reviewing European commission request that Digital Services Act (DSA) work closely with the European Commission.

Amazon shares the aspiration of the European Commission is to create a safe, predictable and trusted shopping environment.

In addition, the spokesman reason that it is important for all participants in the retail industry and the Amazon to invest strongly in protecting their store from bad actors, illegal content, and in creating a trustworthy shopping experience.

In further addition,the spokesman stated that they have built on this strong foundation for DSA compliance.
