Keenan Davidse has taken a three-shot lead into the final round of the Betway Big Easy Tour event at Modderfontein Golf Club, carding a 67 in the second round to move to 10-under-par. His impressive performance has put him in a strong position to claim the title, with his nearest rival, Yurav Premlal, struggling to keep pace.

Premlal, who held the overnight lead, faltered with a one-under 71, dropping to seven-under and leaving Davidse in command of the tournament. The Stellenbosch Golf Club member’s consistent play has been a hallmark of his game, and he will be looking to build on this advantage in the final round.

Despite his impressive performance, Davidse remains cautious, acknowledging that his game still feels “rusty” after a recent break. He is determined to take it one shot at a time and not put pressure on himself heading into the final round. “The game still feels rusty,” he admitted, “but I’m not complaining. I was hitting it decently but not the way I know I can hit it.”

Davidse’s round was marked by eight birdies, showcasing his ability to weave together a low score when in form. However, he was also troubled by bogeys on the third, sixth, and 18th holes, a reminder that there is still work to be done if he is to claim the title. With a three-shot lead, Davidse is well-placed to take the win, but he will need to maintain his focus and composure in the final round.

As the tournament heads into its final day, all eyes will be on Davidse to see if he can convert his lead into a win. With his experience and skill, he is well-equipped to handle the pressure, but the golf course at Modderfontein Golf Club is notoriously tricky, and anything can still happen. One thing is certain, however: Davidse will be giving it his all as he seeks to claim the title and take home the prize.
