Supreme Court Scolded Governors for refusing to grant Local government council financial autonomy

On Thursday 11th of July 2024, The Supreme stripe the governors from terminating democratically elected local government council.

The court believe that this action amount to the breach of the 1999 constitution.According to the court, the defendant, (that is the governor) is said to have wasted their time in the suite.

The Supreme Court order that fun meant for the local government council be paid directly to the local government council account.it was earlier reported the supreme court granted to the 774 local government council in the community financial autonomy.

The governors were scold for denying the local government council of financial autonomy.
