Google Equip 8000 Youth in Nigeria Creative Sector

The Creative Industries Initiative for Africa in partnership with Google, launched the Engage Nigerian Programme to enhance 8000 youth with creative industry skills. Google in a release says,the initiative will be part of the skill sprint programme launched in 2023 to provide digital skills training to 20,000 Nigerian youth ad women.
According to Google,the programme will be beneficial to 6000 creatives from across Nigeria offering comprehensive training in various creative discipline. It will also benefits those in music business, production events planning, management, cinematography, videography and content creation.It added that those who participated will receive mentorship from industry professionals and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
The Engage Nigeria Programme as made impact on the Nigeria Creative Economy which has been making significant impact globally.The programme is expected to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in various creative discipline said by the tech giant.
The first cohort of the programme receive over 2200 participants who receive valuable training and mentorship.According to the tech giant,the second Cohort is said to be bigger with expanded reach and new partnership.The notable expansion in the cohort is the partnership with Gift community Digital Hub.
Gbolahan Yishawll a key supporter of the programme and also a member of Lagos state House of Assembly Rep Eti Osa Constituency 02 stated,We are delighted to collaborate with CIIFA to bring the Engage Nigeria Programme to our constituency.”Our mission at C.I.I.F.A. is to empower the next generation of creative professionals in Africa. Partnering with GOYF Community Digitech Hub allows us to reach more young talents in Eti-Osa 02, providing them with the tools and knowledge to succeed in the creative economy. Through these platforms, our young talent can emerge as key contributors to the digital economy.”
