The Nigerian U-17 football team, the Golden Eaglets, have qualified for the FIFA World Cup in thrilling fashion, defeating their arch-rivals, Ghana, 3-1 in the final match of the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Dakar, Senegal.
The team, led by coach Nduka Ugbade, put on a dominant display, with goals from Abdullahi Abdullahi, Emmanuel Michael, and a penalty kick by captain, Gabriel Kriel. This victory marks the Golden Eaglets’ sixth African title and secures their spot at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru later this year.
