A leading entertainment content provider, African magic, has celebrated a decade of greatness in African film at the 10th edition of the Africa magic viewers’ choice award (AMVCA).
which was held at Eko hotel and suites in Lagos state, from may 9-11, 2024 to accolade magnificent achievements in the industry.
The African magic viewers’ choice award (AMVCA), recognized outstanding achievements in various categories, including best lead actor, best lead actress, best movie, best movie director and many more.
The movie “breath of life” stand out as the biggest winner in this year’s edition, going home with various awards , including Best movie and best movie director. Kehinde Bankole won best lead actress and Wale ojo won best lead actor, for their excellent performance in the movie “breath of life” and “adire”
The Industry doyens, Richard Mofe Damijo aka RMD and Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya rainbow were honored with the merit award of the industry for their effort and contributions to the growth of the African film industry.
A lot of top African film and television personalities attended the event, including kunle Afolayan, odunlade Adekola, iyabo ojo, Ramsey Noah, kanayo O. Kanayo, Funke akindele and many others.
The executive head of content and channels west Africa, multi choice, Dr. Busola tejumola express how she’s proud of the quality and growth of African film and television. Saying “We congratulate all the winners and nominees who have put in incredible work. We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone In the African film industry industry. You have all made us proud”.
The event was streamed live on showmax, the multi choice streaming platform, and Africa magic channels enabling viewers to participate in the celebration of African film and television excellence from anywhere on the continent and beyond.
