Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has been cleared to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, after the Court Arbitration of Sports dismissed appeals from World Athletics and WADA.
Amusan was charged with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation in July 2023, but the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal ruled in August 2023 that Amusan did not violate Rule 2.4 of the WA ADR.
The CAS Panel upheld the decision of WADT, dismissing both appeals seeking a two-year ineligibility period, following a hearing on January 19.
The CAS Panel acknowledged the athlete’s two filing failures but did not confirm a missed test, alleged by WA and WADA, which would have been the third failure within a 12-month period.
The CAS Panel has ruled that the athlete did not commit an ADRV and the decision should be confirmed.
