Super Eagles and NFF dispute about formula sharing

The Nigeria Football Federation and Super Eagles players are reportedly unable to agree on the distribution of the $4 million prize money from the Confederation of African Football.

On the 29th of June 2024 Players have demanded 30% of the $1.2 Million prize money, while the NFF is pleading for 25%, which amounts to a Million Dollars.

A top official stated that there is no agreement between players and the NFF on the distribution of prize money.

The 2019 AFCON in Egypt resulted in the boys receiving 30% of the prize money paid to the NFF by CAF, despite no agreement before the tournament. Players accused captain Ahmed Musa of insufficient payment.

President Bola Tinubu approved a 12 Billion Naira payment in January to settle outstanding bonuses and allowances dating back to 2021.
