Spain has secured a thrilling victory over Germany in Stuttgart on the 5th of July 2024, ending the match 2-1 after extra-time with a header from Mikel Merino in the 119th minute.
The first half was marked by fouls and bookings, with Kai Havertz scuffing a chance, Pedri being injured, and three players receiving yellow cards.
In the second half, Lamine Yamal’s goal set up Dani Olmo, bringing life to the game and allowing both teams to have chances.
The hosts appeared to be winning the competition until Florian Wirtz scored a half-volley into the Spanish net, causing the real final to go to extra-time.
