But the initial shock and disbelief that had paralyzed the church gave way to a stunned silence as news of the youth leader’s arrest in connection to the hotel death spread rapidly, leaving the congregation in a state of utter disbelief. The youth leader and the deceased, who had a past romantic relationship, had checked into a hotel room together in Rumuigbon, but the encounter ended in tragedy with the woman’s body found dead in the room.
According to police sources, a married woman’s mysterious death in a Rivers State hotel room has led to the arrest of her former acquaintance, who allegedly tried to cover his tracks by giving a false testimony in church. Investigations revealed that the woman, a mother of three, had rekindled a past relationship with Tuamene, a former classmate from their days at the Rivers State College of Education (now Ignatius Ajuru University of Education). The two had lost contact after graduating in 2012 but reunited at Tuamene’s wedding in April 2024, leading to a fateful meeting on May 14, 2024.
