18 STATES ON RED ALERT AS FLOOD KILLS 15, DISPLACES OVER 16,000 NIGERIANS IN ONE WEEK

At least 15 people have tragically died as a result of severe flooding that has affected the entire country over the past week. The flooding has caused widespread devastation, destroying homes, vehicles and other valuable possessions.
The recent flood in Yobe State caused extensive damage, destroying numerous houses and sweeping away vehicles. The floodwaters, which overflowed the estate canal, impacted a significant number of communities. The heavy rainfall on July 1st resulted in the destruction of approximately 30 communities, tragically claiming the lives of nine individuals.
The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) reported that severe flooding had impacted over 10,845 people in 12 local government areas of Yobe State. The affected areas include Yunusari, Nguru, Nangere, Gujba, Damaturu, Fika, Bade, Bursari, Yusufari, Geidam, Machina, and Karasuwa.
Meanwhile, in Lagos State, continuous heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding, causing significant disruptions to daily life. On Wednesday, movement was restricted and economic activities were severely impacted.
