Farooq Oreagba, who has survived cancer and previously held the position of Head of Strategy and Business Development at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, has been appointed as an honorary ambassador by the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC).
His title as “King of Steez” was awarded following his standout performance at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, where he showcased his style by riding a horse adorned in a colorful green and yellow Asooke Agbada outfit. His distinctive fashion sense and captivating life narrative have positioned him as the festival’s figurehead. He embellished his clothing with red coral beads, a gold shoulder chain, fashionable sunglasses, daring tattoos, a big smoking pipe, and an Apple wristwatch, representing Nigerian culture to the global audience.
In 2014, Oreagba was found to have osteosarcoma and carcinoma, but after battling the illness for two years, he was pronounced cancer-free and well enough to go back to work. At the present time, he holds the positions of Managing Director and CEO at NG Clearing.
The CEO of NCAC, Obi Asika, took to Instagram to announce Oreagba’s acknowledgement, praising his vitality and enthusiasm. Oreagba’s attendance at the festival represents optimism, bravery, and the unyielding Nigerian essence.
