SUSPECTED RITUALIST ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED THROAT SLITTING OF TEENAGE PEPPER HAWKER

A 10-year-old boy named Akeem Nurudeen, who was hawking pepper in the Abab Oke-Foma area of Ilorin, Kwara State, was lured into a room by a 46-year-old suspect named Isiaka Adeniyi.
The suspect, under the pretense of wanting to purchase pepper, allegedly covered the victim’s face with a cloth and attempted to slaughter him with a knife.
Vigilant community members swiftly intervened and apprehended the suspect, preventing the attack.
The Kwara State Police Command received a distress call about the attempted culpable homicide and the arrest of the suspected ritualist.
The police at the C Division station investigated the incident, which occurred on July 2, 2024, around 5:30 PM.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough and discreet investigation.
The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, commended the proactive efforts of the community members in apprehending the suspect and ensuring that justice is served.
The police have assured the public that they will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of all residents of Kwara State.
