The College Executive of Humanities and Culture at Ikire Campus,Uniosun, pulled off an unforgettable welcoming party for fresherson March 1, 2024, at the ETF B building. The event, tagged”Fresher’s Day,” was meticulously planned to create connections,foster a sense of belonging, and kick-start an unforgettable journeyfor new students.
The executive team left no stone unturned in ensuring the event’ssuccess, creating an exciting lineup of games, music, food, andmore. The party commenced at 8:00 pm, drawing in a diverse crowdof freshers and staylites (continuing students) from variouscampuses. The atmosphere was electric, with students mingling andmaking new friends.
The celebration showcased a range of activities, includingeducational games, talent hunts, dance and eating competitions, andthrilling music that got everyone vibing to their favorite artists. Theenthusiasm for learning was palpable, making the event amesmerizing sight to behold. Students showcased their skills, andthe audience cheered and clapped along, creating an unforgettableambiance.
The organizers’ hard work paid off, as the freshers now feel at homeon campus. The party was indeed fun and memorable, setting thetone for an excellent start to their college experience. The eventdemonstrated the college’s commitment to creating a welcoming andinclusive environment, where students can grow academically andpersonally.
The success of the fresher’s party is a testament to the dedicationand creativity of the College Executive of Humanities and Culture.Their efforts have fostered a sense of community and belongingamong students, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact ontheir academic journey.
On an interview with some of the fresher’s, they explained anddescribed their enthusiasm wish for a progressive and Excelling startas they look forward to the stress, happiness and challenges thatcomes their way, while some felt derritmental and nostalgic about it,it is important to note that the College has done their part to ensurethe happiness and security of the students.
While being questioned about His plans on campus, 17 years oldAbubakar Ahmed states “I feel so much enthusiasm because Isuccessfully gained admission into this great institution, and I foronce promised I won’t jeopardize the opportunity to make adifference and change my life for the better, I’m here to make mystay a memorable, thrilling and exciting one definitely succeedingacademically by burning the midnight candle of course”, Hecommented.
