The House of Representatives has called for sanctions against Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and six Area Council Chairmen for not appearing before the House when summoned. Ikonne Ifeanyi, a committee member, criticized their actions as disrespectful and suggested they should face sanctions, including potentially removing Wike from his position.

Fredrick Agbedi, the committee chairman, stated this refusal undermines accountability and governance, noting that the council chairmen had not completed any projects despite receiving significant funds. Rep. Adesola Adebayo and other committee members emphasized the need for the council chairmen to be accountable and suggested applying maximum pressure.

Nurudeen Abbas proposed giving them one final chance to appear before implementing sanctions, while Sada Soli recommended a closed session for further discussion.
