PRESIDENTIAL FLEET: NIGERIA’S PRESIDENT HAS 10 PLANES ;LEADERS OF THE BRITAIN, SINGAPORE HAVE NONE

Until 1999,The secretary of the Government of the federation was under the control and supervision of the Presidential Air fleet (PAF). Before 1999,The fleet was almost dormant for lack of use and now the fleet is under the national security Adviser.

General Sani Abacha hardly ever left Abuja except for rare occasions. General Ibrahim Babangida rarely traveled outside the country except to visit some state and chief Earnest Oladeinde Adegunle shonekan whose tenure lasted less than 100 days. When he attended the common wealth conference was when he made use of the fleet only once.

The fleeeis among those with the largest number aircraft in the world in comparison to other countries. The British prime Minister had no presidential aircraft. Members of the British government either British Airways or Virgin Atlantic charter most time they have to travel.
