INEC National Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has assured that the commission will conduct hitch-free polls in the election.The commission is pushing the boundaries of credible and inclusive elections.
The recent flood that affected INEC’s office in Edo State has been mitigated, with over 3,500 machines recovered. INEC has enough machines and will call for additional support from neighboring states if needed.
Security arrangements have been put in place, with 22,603 policemen to be deployed for the election. The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, has assured that the police are prepared to mitigate violence and enforce a no-movement order during the election.
