Ex-defence chief, Adm. Ogohi dies at 75

Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi died at age 75 in Abuja after a brief illness. President Bola Tinubu has extended condolences to the family of Admiral Ogohi. The President stated that the deceased’s services to the nation would always be remembered.

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, mourned the death of the former defence chief, describing the late Ogohi as an illustrious son of Kogi and one of Nigeria’s finest military officers.

Ogohi was the first naval officer to become Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff. He was appointed Defence Chief by President Olusegun Obasanjo and served from 1999 to 2003.·
