President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended the NEC meeting to discuss the new national minimum wage with state governors. The NEC meeting was also attended by his vice president Shetimma and some other members. The meeting was held at his office in Aso rock Abuja.
The federal executive council had defferrd the report of the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage to allow president Tinubu to consult with state holders. They also talked about other issues, including food, security and the establishment of state police.
The southern governor’s forum asked to be allowed to negotiate the wage payable to their workers as the ability of each state to pay what it could afford at a national minimum wage.
