On Monday, 22nd April, 2024, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the name for the governorship election that is scheduled to hold on Saturday 21st September,2024.
There are seventeen political parties, Action Alliance (AA), Social Democratic Party (SDP), New Nigeria People Party (NNPP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), All People Movement (APM), All Peoples Party (APP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), African Action Congress (AAC), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Boot Party (BP), Accord Party (AP), African Democratic Congress ( ADC), Labour Party (LP), All Progressive Congress (APC), People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Young Progressive Party (YPP).
There are seventeen(17) people contestant; (16) sixteen are male while one (1) is female. Political parties were permitted to start campaign in public from Wednesday 24th April 2024 and ends at midnight on Thursday 19th September 2024 as indicated in item 8 & 12 of the Timetable and schedule of activities for the election.
