Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje leads the committee, which aims to find solutions to this crisis that has caused many deaths and losses.

The committee suggests creating a Ministry of Livestock Resources, expanding livestock departments, and setting up grazing reserves. They also recommend getting funds from international organizations, private companies, and the government.

Ganduje noted that the government needs to address different types of herders: settled, nomadic, foreign, and indigenous. He pointed out that low productivity in the livestock sector has made Nigeria rely on imports, costing the country foreign reserves.

The committee’s report aims to improve the livestock industry, resolve conflicts, and promote peace. With this new committee, Nigeria is ready to tackle the ongoing issue and strengthen the government’s response.
