Chinyere Kalu was born on 24th of March 1954 in Imo State part of Nigeria. Like many young girls growing up, she was inspired to go against all odd by her father, a civil engineer.
Kalu got herself enrolled in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria Kaduna State where she was the only female among 150 male students, this did not make her to change her stand. She received commercial pilot’s license in 1978.
This motivated young girls and women all over the country. Kalu is acknowledged as a leading expert in the sphere of aviation.
To be more precise the target customer has over 40 years of experience. She has flown the type Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 as well, she been working with the Nigerian Airways/African Airlines etc.
Kalu’s has empowered women by giving them the inspiration to be pilots and sha has also fought for the legal rights of women in the developments of aviation.
She has been awarded many of them; among them is the honorable order of the Federal Republic (OFR) which she was accorded in the year 2007.
This case marks the special place of Chinyere Kalu and her adventurous story in the aviation industry.
