Honourable Musiliu Olaide Akinremi the House of Representatives member, representing the Ibadan North Federal constituency. Olaide Akinremi is a two-term federal lawmaker representing the Ibadan North constituency has reportedly died at age 51 after a brief illness.
He died two month after the death of a Representative member from Jigawa state namely Isa Dongoyaro, who died after a brief illness.
The leadership of house in his statement confirmed the death of Akinremi on Wednesday, July 10. He died in the early hours of Wednesday. One of his friends, Akin Adewale broke the news of his death on his X handle. I quote and he said.
“We lost Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the NASS. This is really sad”.
Adewale Sadare, the state Public Relations Officer could not confirm the news of his death when he was contacted.
“I cannot say anything for now. I read what someone posted but I have not confirmed. So, I cannot say anything for now. I will get back,” he replied.
Akin Rotimi,the House of Representatives spokesman,
also confirmed his death in a statement quoted Tajudeen Abass expressing is sadness.
He recollected that Akinremi served as Chairman of the House committee on science research constitution.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, expressed his profound sadness over the loss. “Rep. Akinremi Olaide Adewale was a beacon of dedication and service. His contributions to our legislative work, especially in the area of science and research, were invaluable. His passing is a great loss to the House, his constituency, and the nation. We will miss his leadership, wisdom, and the unique passion he brought to his work,” the Speaker stated.
“The entire House of Representatives mourns this significant loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to the Akinremi family, the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the Government and People of Oyo State, and the entire APC family. Rep. Akinremi’s legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working with him and benefiting from his leadership.
The statement read, “Until his demise, the Oyo legislator was a dedicated public servant known for his unwavering commitment to the development of his constituency and the country at large. His passion for service, coupled with his deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of his people, earned him the endearing title of ‘Jagaban.’

Akinremi throughout is tenure built friendship by being intentional about reaching out to people and send goodwill letters to all colleagues, his contribution to legislative debates and his active participation in committee activities and lot more of good memories of him
