PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

(PTSD) is a disorder that evolves in some individuals who have experienced a shocking, terrifying, or dangerous event. It is normal to feel scared during & after a traumatic occurrence. Fear is a part of the body’s “fight-or-flight” feedback , which helps us avoid or respond to potential hazards.
It is also a mental health condition that’s triggered by a scary event, either by experiencing it or witnessing it.

In the United States, about 3.5% of adults have PTSD in a given year, & 9% of people develop it at some point in their life. It is most common in women than men.

Symptoms may include;

  • Flashbacks
  • Nightmares
  • Severe anxiety
  • As well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event.

PTSD can be hard to diagnose, because of different symptoms, the diagnosis can only be based on the symptoms & causes.
The main treatment for people with PTSD are counseling (psychotherapy) & medication.

C-PTSD is similar to PTSD, but has a definite effect on a person’s emotional adjustment & core identity.
