Cholera spreads through contaminated food, water, and surfaces, especially in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene.Prevention and CareTo prevent cholera, avoid tap water, raw food, undercooked seafood, and unwashed fruits and vegetables. Drink bottled or boiled water, eat prepackaged food, and disinfect surfaces. When caring for a cholera patient, wear gloves and face masks, and avoid sharing food or drinks.Government and Public AwarenessUmeh criticizes the government’s inadequate response to the outbreak, citing lack of awareness and ineffective primary healthcare.
