In a daring rescue, firefighter John, saved a family of two from a raging house fire in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The blaze, which engulfed the two-story home, trapped the family including three young children inside.
John, who was the first to arrive at the scene, risked his own life to enter the burning building and rescue the family.
“I knew I had to act fast, I could hear the family screaming for help, and I knew every second counted.” John said in an interview.
John, a 10-year veteran of the fire department, entered the home through a window and navigated through the thick smoke to reach the family. He carried the three children, age 4, age 6 and 11 out to safety, followed by their parents.
“The flames were getting closer and closer, but John stayed calm and focused, We owe him our lives,” said Mrs. Johnson, the mother of the family.
The family was rushed to the hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. John was also treated for smoke inhalation but has since been released.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials say it appears to have started in the kitchen.
John’s actions have been hailed by the community, with many calling him a true hero. The family has set up a fund to thank John for his bravery and to support him in his future endeavors.
