Recently, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has been active in combating smuggling and improving revenue collection.

In Kebbi State, customs officers intercepted goods worth over N126 million, including 212 bags of foreign rice, 10,025 liters of petrol, and various other items like second-hand clothing, cannabis, expired powdered milk, and used tires [Customs intercept foreign rice, others items in Kebbi .

Furthermore, the NCS achieved significant revenue growth in the first quarter of 2024, collecting over N1.3 trillion, which represents a 122% increase compared to the same period last year.

This performance was driven by improved trade facilitation, anti-smuggling measures, and innovations like the integration of geospatial technology.
